New Bing Logo: 11 Crowdsourced Bing Logo Designs

September was a big month for change in the tech world. Yahoo launched a new logo, Google's logo went flat, and the Microsoft search engine, Bing launched a new logo. At DesignCrowd we thought the Bing logo, with its searchlight theme and boxy geometric icon was a smart move. The old logo was tired and Microsoft's new branding left the Bing logo looking like an outsider.

Old Bing Logo (L), The New Bing Logo (R)

The logo design auction site community response seemed divided. Read the Bing logo review on our blog. Some designers described the design as 'crazy' and 'boring' and others hated the Segoe typeface (poor Segoe). So we decided to crowdsource alternative Bing logo designs from our community and create a logo contest.

The Bing Logo Design Contest attracted 172 designs from 81 designers from across the globe. Graphic and logo designers from India to Viet Nam, USA to France and Bulgaria participated in the contest. Designers were asked to submit serious design alternatives or have some fun experimenting with completely new design. They could use the new Bing yellow and typeface, Segoe Pro, or create new brand identity from scratch. You can read the detailed brief here.

The winner was a graphic designer from India, nandkumar who tells us his strategy was to stick closely to the brief :). He took inspiration from the Segoe Pro font and Microsoft color palette. We thought the use of a triangle logo design to emulate a B for “bing” was pretty cool too.

The Bing logo design showcase reveals a mix of serious, fun and satirical designs from our community. Enjoy the following 11 alternative Bing logo designs.
